SWITZERLAND
What did I say about broken bones!! – on our second skiing day in Switzerland I was tearing down the slopes trying to keep up with Jack and his cousin when someone in front of me decided to suddenly change direction. I was going so fast I had no way of stopping or missing her. The result was a fractured wrist and the end of skiing for the rest of the trip. You certainly don’t want to be in Switzerland without medical insurance – I had a couple of X-rays and a plaster cast put on my arm. Damage…1000Swiss francs (about$1075AUD)
Besides the skiing accident we had a great Christmas with Emily and Jack in Verbier and meeting for the first time Jacks relatives. A few jager bombs were consumed and Penny even did a dive into the mosh pit(not that she can remember it!!!) when Jack’s band was playing at one of the clubs.
I’m not sure whether I could hack the cold for too long. We think we have both become too acclimatised to the hot weather. It was quite a shock going from the equator to as near as damn it to the North Pole.
We are now back in Panama and will be heading east for the San Blas islands tomorrow.
