MALACCA STRAITS
Sunday 26th November 2006
We made it through the Malacca Straights without any problems – didn’t see one pirate!!!
You can’t imagine how busy the shipping lanes are here. At any one time you could see the lights of 30 boats, anything from 500,000 ton oil tanker to small fishing boat dragging 500 metre nets behind it. As usual there was little wind so we motored most of the way.
We are now in Penang, a gourmet’s paradise for Indian and Asian food. Its even better than Singapore for eating out. $2 dollars will get you one of the best curries you will ever experience.
Tomorrow we are heading to Langkawi – a duty free port!!
