COOKTOWN, by Andy
For me Cooktown was quite boring, because there wasn’t much to do and the city life seemed low. But the town was a great old county town and the Captain Cook museum there was extremely interesting, even for me.
CAPE FLATTERY, by Andy
Small private sand mining town of 60 workers . They didn’t like us wandering around !! Large 5 me croc lives here.
Good sheltered anchorage.
LIZARD ISLAND, by Andy
Anchored only 80 meters from the beach. Right under the boat are fish who want to be fed. The wind is strong, but cool.
MT COOK, by Andy
Again this year I climbed the 359m mountain, taking about three hours all together. Sadly, we forgot the camera but the view was amazing, one of the best I have ever seen. And on the way back i nearly stood of a Goanna, scared me to pieces.
MERMAID COVE, by Andy
We went to Mermaid Cove, via a lot of large waves causing us to go extremely slow. When we got there there was hardly any wind, and we went hookah diving. Mum didn’t because she has a bad back. We saw large caves in the coral, and lots of rock cods. We saw Barramundi Cod, and Groper, and Maori Wrasse, and a shark 🙂 On the way back we saw an Octopus 🙂 it was very large and changed colors rapidly. Then we went to the beach and I climbed rocks while mum and dad went snorkeling .
LIZARD ISLAND RESEARCH STATION, by Andy
We went to the research station, and had a great tour. We went with David, Allison, Jenny, Brain, Matt, Natasha. It was very fun, we had a great lunch while me and the other two kids went off looking for lizards. hehe. Then we walked back to the beach where the boat was and let our Geckos go who stayed with the the whole day. And maybe tomorrow they will still be on the same tree, we will see.
