CAPE UPSTART
On Sunday we finally left the Whitsundays for new cruising grounds. We spent a rainy Sunday night off Gloucester Island – the weather has really been terrible, in the month we have been away we would have had about 4 sunny days.
Today we are in Upstart Bay, about 40 miles northwest of Bowen – yes its still raining!!! Fortunately it didn’t stop us from having a fantastic sail from Gloucester Island. The wind was 10 to 13 knots from the SW – we average about 9 and half knots with the screacher up and a reef in the main. We left all the mono’s and even a large multi for dead – the boat is really performing well – congratulations to Lightwave.
