Hi everyone
We have had 3 nights here and are now heading across bay to Easo – a bigger town! It has been very calm here almost glassout. Reef all about, where Fiona & I have snorkelled & seen some very pretty fish, white tip shark, turtles & beautiful coral. Water is beautiful (could be warmer) and really clear. The fishing side of things is very disappointing with more to offer in the canal south of New Cal. Obviously been fished out as locals go out wide.
We are looking forward to the next island Ouvea which is a curved island with lots of reef. We are now thinking (as we have just read) that we will clear from Lifou rather than back track to Noumea.
Russ & Fiona (REFLECTIONS) tore the screetcher sail again – seemed that the way the repairs were done last time probably caused it. We are now able to use our HF radtell – I ended up working it out for myself as the instructions given weren’t clear enough with both Fiona & I following them. One day after being totally over it I just did what I thought should happen & it worked.
Water maker now in full swing also after a faulty pump. Rob went though everything, checking & re checking to no avail. After a process of elimination we got to the pump. Rob changed with another we had on board & now runs the full hour, where as it was 10 – 20mins & cut out.
Russ & Fiona have the autopiolot up & running with a new gyro compass coming. The computer has been changed so hopefully all our problems are over with.
Hope all OK.
Luv
Margie & Rob
