CAPE BEDFORD
Our next port of call, after the the Low Isles, was Hope island about 12 miles north of Cooktown. It comprises of two seperate sand cays surrounded by coral. It is your typical coral island – about 500 metres in circumfrance with tropical vegetation in the middle -but no coconut trees . Unfortunately Penny wasn’t that enthusiastic to explore when the first thing we came across was a warning sign that crocodiles are found in this area and not to go to close to the waters edge!!
